摘要

Eight germplasm of sugarcane mid-late maturing varieties were planted during March, 2000-2001 at the Crop Research Centre, Pantnagar. The varieties were planted in RBD in three replication with an individual plot size of 5.0 X 3.0 M. Incidence of topborer was recorded by counting dead heart and bunchy top, tunnel length in stem, reduction in plant height, total no. of healthy plants and height of healthy plants. For grass hopper, incidence was recorded by taking 10 clumps from each varieties randomly and population was recorded. Three damaged leaf per plant from each clump was selected and grade was given in accordance with per cent leaf area defoliation.
