摘要

Combined effect of cultural practices like intercropping maize with pulses and application of different doses of potash fertilizers was evaluated for the management of maize stem borer in maize. The experiment was conducted during kharif season of 1997 and 1998 using a split plot design. The infestation of stem borer was lowest (8.8%) when lower doseof K (60 kg/ha)wasappliedandthehighest(17.l%)at 80 kg/ha. Intercropping maize with pulses viz., green gram (9.7%) and soybean (11.6%) significantly reduced the damage. Both intercropping and potash fertilizers did not effect the spider population and yield. Higher grain yield was recorded in intercropped maize than the monocrop of maize.
