On July 24, Chicago Mayor Lori E. Lightfoot and the City Council approved an ordinance that will ensure hourly workers in Chicago are guaranteed fair working conditions and scheduling stability that will let them maximize their income and better care for their families. The landmark Chicago Fair Workweek Ordinance, SO2019-3928, goes beyond other fair workweek laws to include additional industries, among other things.
