The Spanish Ceramic Tile Manufacturers hasbecome one of the most dynamic and competitive business inSpain. One of the basic characteristics of the Spanish ceramic tileindustry is its exporting vocation. Foreign trade is one of thepillars of the industry, which sets aside an each time greaterpercentage of its production for exportation. Approximately50percent of the World production is produced in Europe, withItaly and Spain producing 32.37percent in relation to the rest of theworld, and 66.71percent of the European production. Spain'sshare has been maintained at 14percent of world production whileItaly has lost some positions (3,84percent) for 1997. OutsideEurope, Asia, Brazil, Mexico and China are expanding. NewExpectatives is the actual panorama of the International market.Around 80percent of the workforce and 92percent of production isconcentrated in the Comunidad Valenciana, in particular in theprovince of Castellon (district of La Plana) will be necessary tostudy the strengths and weakness of these business.
