Combined domestic inventories of commercial crude,gasoline,and distillate fuel oil(DFO,i.e.,middle distillates excluding jet fuel)sank by 7.527MM bbl(1.0%)over the week ending March 18 to 763.577MM bbl-a low not seen since July 2018-as reported by the US EIA.The Administration's figure for total stocks of crude and petroleum products(including in-transit crude in Alaska,crude in the Strategic Petroleum Reserve,and other products such as jet fuel,residual fuel oil,propane/propylene,kerosene,asphalt,etc.)was down by 10.889MM bbl(0.6%)to 1.7081B bbl-a fresh low not seen since early April 2014.The EIA's figure for the week ending March 18 for collective product supplied(a proxy for implied demand)for all products rose by 2.3% to a two-week high of 21.124MM b/d.Commercial crude-oil stocks shrank for the third time in the most-recent four weeks,having diminished by 2.508MM bbl over the week ending March 18 to a two-week low,and they were down on the year by 89.312MM bbl.A Reuters poll of nine analysts,on the other hand,showed an average forecast for a week-on-week crude stockbuild of 100K bbl.Only two of the US's five regions posted week-on-week crude draws,with the sharper dive of 6.562MM bbl in the Gulf Coast,where the stockpile reached a five-week low.The East Coast registered a much-smaller drop of 439K bbl to hit an eight-week low.On the other hand,crude stocks in the Midwest surged by 2.029MM bbl to a four-week high,those in the West Coast swelled by 1.947MM bbl to an over-16-month high,and those in the Rocky Mountains grew by 516K bbl to a 13-week high.
