Solid downstream demand was also a positive factor for the propylene market during the week to April 23. Crude prices were unable to save ethylene from the downward pressure of incoming imports that are expected to continue into May. Abundant benzene inventories in China and falling styrene monomer prices pulled down the spot benzene market. Toluene, however, got support from crude despite weak fundamentals.
