The Oil Minister, Mr. Cherif Ismail, has announced the appointment of Mr. Tarek el-Molla as Chairman of Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC). Mr. el-Molla, who was the company's Executive Vice-President for External Trade up to now, succeeds Mr. Tarek el-Barkatawy, who became First Under-Secretary for Oil Exploration and Agreements at the Ministry of Petroleum in May (AOG, 1 June 2013). Mr. el-Barkatawy has now been appointed Chairman of Tanmia Petroleum Corporation in place of Mr. Abdel-Majid el-Rashidi, who has become Chairman of Al Fajr Egyptian Jordanian Company (Al Fajr), which handles the transportation of Egyptian gas to Jordan.
