Standard MOP has been reported at around $610-713/t cfr, with the lower end of the range reflecting a recent BPC sale of 3,000 t, a volume too small to be included in our SE Asian assessment. Granular MOP prices have been reported at around $770/t cfr in September, $10 lower than the previously month price. Stocks in the market were still low despite the declining MOP prices and the famers’ buying season starting in October, with mainstream importers said to have no more than 20,000 t of MOP in their warehouse. Importers were reluctant to commit to cargoes as they expected prices to decline further given that the market was convinced of the availability of Belorussian and Russian products. However, navigating the sanctions and payment issues associated with the Russian and Belorussian imports remained of some concern.
