A South African independent power producer (IPP), Red Rocket, has ordered wind turbines with the capacity to generate 373 MW from Danish manufacturer Vestas for three projects it plans to build in the country. In a release on March 14, Vestas said the three properties – Brandvalley, Rietkloof and Wolf wind parks – will be located in Western Cape and Eastern Cape in Africa’s most developed economy, which is promoting renewables amid a biting power shortage.
