Angola’s state-owned Sonangol and its Cuban counterpart Cupet are fnalis- ing arrangements to restart Cuba’s stalled deepwater exploration campaign, a Cupet offcial says. But US frms are still showing little interest despite “an open invitation” from Cuba, the offcial says. “We want to ensure all is in place for interested compa- nies if and when the US lifts its damaging economic embargo.” Cuba and the US reopened embassies in Washington and Havana, respectively, on 20 July.
