摘要

The Czech Republic has a skilled local workforce, particularly in technology and engineering. Education and literacy levels are high. Finding workers can be difficult in Prague, and an acute labour shortage has emerged in other industrialised regions, particularly impacting the auto industry. Individuals with specialised skills as well as management and financial expertise are in high demand, and poaching managers from competing companies is considered fair game. Eurofound, the EU's social and labour policy agency, notes the country has faced an unprecedented shortage of labour at all skill levels, recently exacerbated by the outflow of foreign workers due to the coronavirus (covid-19) pandemic. The Labour Act (Law 262/2006) addresses most aspects of employer-employee relations, including contractual minimums and obligations, working hours and holidays, notice periods and severance, and health and safety in the workplace. The Civil Code (Law 89/2012) covers employment contracts, adding statutory detail to the obligations and rights of employers and workers, including salaried managers.
