SummaryFor rejection test purposes on a creamery platform the 10‐min. resazurin test can be recommended. At the present time there is no adequate test that can be recommended in all circumstances for routine use in a dairy, particularly if it is desired to have a test which gives warning of a potentially unsatisfactory supply. During warm weather and with milk cooled by water only, dye‐reduction tests could be suitable for this purpose. With refrigerated milk, preliminary incubation is necessary before a dye test can be discriminating but the use of preliminary incubation can give misleading results. For official purposes in Scotland the colony count test should continue to be used but at an incubation temperature of 32°C. The coliform test should be restricted to Farm Bottled raw milk and heat‐treated milk. If the coliform test is retained for T.T. raw milk, the pass standard should be reduced from negative in 0·01 ml. to negative in 0
