China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) and its subsidiary, PetroChina, were charged with the task of providing solutions for China's fast-growing demand for energy. To provide for the country's booming economy and increasing consumption, PetroChina's Jidong oilfield began accelerating its oil and gas exploration and development activities in an attempt to address this challenge.
