Five contract area agreements -three covering exploration and two development-signed recently by Unocl East China Sea (20%),Shell affiliate Pecten Orient (20%),operator CNOOC (30%) and Sinopec (30%) will see the further exploitation of natural gas resources in the Xihu Trough of the East China Sea.The contract areas cover nearly 22,000km~2 in about 91m of water.
