摘要

Ken Langille has spent $20,000 bringing new Charolais blood into the Maritimes. It's part of a plan to move from commercial to a purebred operation.Langille is the last beef farmer on Nova Scotia's Malagash Peninsula, a point of land west of Oxford, N.S., poking north into the Northumberland Strait. When he began farming there in 1969, he recalls there being "two or three milk cans at the end of every lane," awaiting pick-up by the creamery in nearby Tata-magouche. "Now it's cottage country."
