The sharp increase in fuel prices such as heavy oil is hurting dyeing costs.Japanese dyers say that it is quite difficult to transfer the additional increase in processing costs to the finished goods due to a business slump.An official of Tokai Senko K.K.says that the current price of heavy oil is far higher than originally expected."In particular,the total energy costs including electricity,gas,and heavy oil jumped about 25% for knit dyeing.We intend to integrate processing operations so as to avoid a waste of energy."
