With no formal training, Jenny Phillips has graduated from colouring books to one of the world's leading botanic artists. ON the cover of this year's National Trust diary is a peony. It is so realistic with its shade and light, perfect stamens, fragile petals and lifelike leaves that you feel as if you could pluck it off the cover and display it in a small vase. That is the power of botanical art.
