Gail Thomas wanders through one of Victoria's grand old gardens, Cloudehill, with some modern surprises along the way.CLOUDEHILL, an historic garden in the Dandenongs an hour from Melbourne, boasts some 20 garden "rooms", an 80-year-old European beech, maples and magnolias, plus an impressive collection of Himalayan tree rhododendrons, herbaceous borders and more.Adding to this gardeners-delight destination is a restaurant and nursery stocking more than 30 varieties of Lutea hybrid tree peonies, Japanese and weeping maples, together with a range of pots, tools, fountains and artworksCloudehill was pioneered by the Woolrich family in the 1890s.
