AUSTRALIAN plants are not generally regarded as being 'indoor plants' as they are usually seen growing in their natural locations, including bushlands, forests, grasslands and rainforests. Most can be grown very successfully in outdoor situations, particularly as very few regions of Australia are snow-covered in winter, so we tend to overlook the benefits they may have for us when grown indoors. Recent research at the University of Technology in Sydney indicates that plants can be very effective at removing pollutants from the air in workplaces, as well as in the home, and that cleaner air can lead to better cardiovascular health and clearer thinking, promoting greater productivity and efficiency.
