Kangaroo Island is a special place. There are over 1,600 kilometres of roads and many of them still have some or a lot of roadside vegetation on each side which is available for the public to explore. In addition to these roadside treasure troves, Flinders Chase National Park and the many large and small Conservation Parks still have much of their lands covered by native vegetation. Many farming properties have small to relatively large areas of native bushland in various states of health, so, all in all, almost half of the Island has some native bushland.
