摘要

I first became interested in verticordia after joining the Society for Growing Australian Plants (now APS) in about 1962. Going to one of the flower shows I saw verticordia for the first time and fell in love with these beautiful feathery-looking flowers in striking vibrant colours. I very soon decided that I would pursue this genus and one day have a collection of most, if not all, of the 68 known species at that time. We now know that there are some 150 species and subspecies named and possibly some not yet discovered.
