When my wife and I first set out on a trip to look at wildflowers, more than 30 years ago, we scarcely found any. We simply did not know where to look. Even though Western Australia is rightly known as the wildflower state, agricultural development has meant that wildflowers can now only be found in reserves and along relatively few roadsides. In the intervening years, we have learned where some of these good spots are, partly as a result of excursions organised by the Wildflower Society, partly from trips we have undertaken and partly from helping to organise wildflower tours including those for the ASGAP 2005 meeting. I thought it would be a good idea to share some of this knowledge with you.
