摘要

The NSW Seedbank, located at ABGMA has always been at the centre of horticulture and conservation activity. The seed collection held at the Royal Botanic Garden, Sydney was moved to Mount Annan in 1986, and since that time an active seed collecting program from wild locations throughout Australia has been an essential part of developing this large and ambitious Garden. With the NSW Seedbank operations now fully integrated into the new Australian PlantBank, the seedbank still actively supports the development of the living collection throughout ABGMA and other RBG sites. Just like the ABGMA landscape and Garden, the role of the seedbank program has continually evolved, and now as the nucleus of PlantBank, it plays a lead role in the conservation of NSW threatened species.
