Jim's love of native plants came from travelling around Australia and growing up in the water catchment area of The Oaks, bush walking, collecting and germinating Telopea seed. From there he joined the Australian Botanic Garden, and now he propagatesfor a living. Paradise for him!As you may imagine, we have a large and diverse living collection of plants from across Australia housed in our nursery. Many people over the past 25 years have contributed to establishing and maintaining this collection; and yes, it's a handful to curate. The nursery of the Australian Botanic Garden covers approximately three hectares with one hectare of dedicated shade house plus a propagation building, two small glass houses, each split for additional climate control, a 'tube house' for establishingyoung plants and four poly houses that help production plants through our harsh winter.
