Perhaps the most compelling thing about Dodge's soon-to-retire Viper is its consistent simplicity. Even the latest example, the ACR-X race car, continues that tradition. It's a marvelous contradiction to the notion that cars, especially super-cars, should relentlessly advance technologically. Just as Seinfeld creators Jerry Seinfeld and Larry David clung to the idea that the show's characters should not develop or improve - a philosophy expressed by the mantra "no hugging, no learning"-Dodge engineers kept the Viper simple. That's the way one of its godfathers, Bob Lutz, wanted it.
