Erromyzon yangi, a new species of hillstream loach is described from a tributary of the Zhu Jiang River (Pearl River), Guangxi Province, China. It differs from all other species of the genus by the following combination of characters: a uniformly coloured dorsum (vs. dorsum with dark vertical bars); a narrow median lobe between the anterior rostral barbels.
