SINGAPORE ICIS)--SGL Group has agreed to sell its graphite electrode (GE) business to Japanese chemical firm Showa Denko in a deal worth European dollar 350m, the German carbonbased products and materials maker said on Thursday. The transaction is expected to be closed in the first half of 2017, it said in a statement. Following the closing of the transaction, about 900 employees and six production sites in Germany, Austria, Spain, USA, and Malaysia will be transferred from SGL Group to Showa Denko, the firm said.
