The country's cattle industry is set to get a big boost from the Southeast Asian region, particularly big player Australia, with the forging of the Asian Cattlemen's Association recently in Cagayan de Oro City, Misamis Oriental. The group gathers cattle producers from the Philippines, Australia, Indonesia, Malaysia and Brunei. The idea was hatched by the Philippine- representative to the gathering, Roberto Montalvan, president of the Philippine Cattle Raisers Association. Mr.Michael T. Back, executive director of the Northern Territory Cattlemen's Association, Inc., said the group would initially establish the -strengths and weaknesses of each member to determine areas of complementation.
