摘要

A summary of just some of the papers presented at the annual symposium held in Sydney, Australia. Providing chilled water (<25°C) to hens during heat waves produced significantly greater egg mass/bird/day than did similar hens given low chilled water. Also, brooding chickens (both broilers and layers) given chilled water increased growth rates, feed and water consumption, compared with chickens given unchilled water. These findings were presented by Drs. Stewart and Dingle, University of Queensland, to the 1996 Australian Poultry Science Symposium in Sydney.
