The declining production of sweet potato (camote) in the Philippines is partly attributed to the lack of incentives given to farmers of sweet potatoes. In a vicious cycle, however, a study conducted in UP-Los Banos. Center for Policy and Development Studies (CPDS) also discovered that the small demand for sweet potatoes is not inspiring farmers to expand production.
