A pot culture experiment was conducted in a glasshouse to study the influence of sources of N (urea, farmyard manure (FYM) and N-enriched sludge) with different modes of S application (basal and split) on chlorophyll content, leaf area index (LAI), grain quality and yield of rice under waterlogged condition. Application of 120 ppm N as enriched digested sludge (N enriched to 10%) with 30 ppm S as K2SO4 in split doses recorded the highest values for chlorophyll content (33.9 SPAD), dry matter content (96.38 g/pot), LAI (4.8), alkali value (4.5), amylose content (23.55%), protein content (7.20%) and yield (grain yield=66.3 g/pot; straw yield=73.9 g/pot). A positive correlation was also observed between N and S application..
