Harold Tucker wants people who work with tractors to know more about hydraulic oil - what type to use for what purpose, when to change it, and how and when to analyze it. As Phillips 66 lubricants technical director, he has a special interest in a more effective use of the products his team develops. "In the market, all the advertising seems to be related to motor oil, so information about hydraulic oil doesn't get the attention it should" Tucker told Implement & Tractor in a recent interview. "They are really all oils, but the oil for hydraulic systems has become known as hydraulic fluid to differentiate it from engine oil."
