Studies were conducted to determine the effect of different combinations of synthetic kairomones (pentacosane, docosane and tricosane) on the egg parasitoids Trichogramma exiguum and T. japonicum on ova of Corcyra cephalonica. A total of 20 different combinations were made by mixing equal quantities of the 3 hydrocarbons in 3 different concentrations (10, 20 and 30 ppm). These combinations were tested for their kairomonal effect on T. exiguum and T. japonicum by the bioassay method. It was found that for T. exiguum, combination P3 + D2 + T3 elicited the maximum response as evidenced by the parasitoid activity index (PAI) and percent parasitism, whereas in the case of T. japonicum, the combination P1 + D3 + T1 showed maximum PAI and P2 + D3 + T3 showed maximum percent parasitism.
