Organotin(IV), tin(IV) and lead(II) trifluoro-#beta#-diketonates have been prepared and characterized on the basis of IR, ~1H and ~(13)C NMR data. All the organotin(IV) complexes are thermally stable liquids. SnCl_2(CF_3COCHCOPh)_2 (7) is characterized by X-ray crystallography which reveals a distorted cis-octahedral structure. X-ray diffraction analysis of Pb(CF_3COCHCOC_6H_4-p-Cl)_2 (8) shows a highly distorted trigonal bipyramidal structure.
