摘要

Tellicherry breed goats are medium-sized, highly prolific and capable of producing good quality meat and milk. The goat breed is well-distributed in Calicut, Cannanore and Malapuram districts of Kerala (Acharya, 1982). Tellicherry breed is consideredas a unique genotype exhibiting higher multiple birth percentages and higher milk yields (Meenakshi Sundaram et al., 2012). In livestock production economically important traits like birth and weaning weights are considerably affected by feeding and management (Koratkar et al., 1998). Nest boxes are most frequently utilized for birds, but some mammals may also use them. Placing nest boxes may be used to reduce the mortality of newborn kids especially in cold weather. The present investigation reports the influence of the nest box on disease patterns and growth performance of the Tellicherry kids.
