Entrepreneurship development is a new initiative to improve skill development, impart training to farmers in modern methods of agriculture as well as imparting skills relevant for agricultural and non-agricultural activities. Entrepreneurship development using agro and allied resources of the regions with active involvement of farmers derive mutual benefits to farmers and entrepreneurs. F'ARMING is the backbone of rural economy and livelihood security of our country. India's total employment (57%) and total rural employment (73%) comes from this sector. Sixty percent of farmers have land holdings less than one acre. With such small land holdings, it is difficult to get two square meals to their families. Most of the farm populace are in debt to bankand money lenders and many can not even hope to repay these loans. In many regions of the country, farmers see a bleak future because of pressures from bank and private money lenders.
