Citroen has always made confusing cars. By turns they have been beautiful, complicated or, more recently, plain dull, although its earlier immensely dull period managed to produce the ZX and Xsara, which are two of the best Bangernomic bargains you can buy. Citroen has recently gone properly bonkers again with the arrival of the new C4, so right now might be a good time to take a risk on an old one.
