IF NEXT YEAR'S all-new 9-4X SUV turns out to be any good (and the signs are hopeful), it will owe at least a little "thank you" to this car, the 9-3 Turbo X. This limited-edition sports saloon is the first model in the GM family to benefit from the new Saab-developed four-wheel drive system that will also underpin the 9-4X. And its value is immediately apparent, because the Turbo X, while no BMWbasher, is at least capable of putting its power down in a controlled way. Which couldn't be said for previous fast Saabs.
