Renault and Caterham's joint-venture project to produce a new lightweight sports car has been cancelled, Autocar understands. The deal between the two sides was forged in 2012 and resulted in Renault committing its Alpine factory in Dieppe, along with its 300-strong workforce, to the project. The partnership was called the Societe des Automobiles Alpine Caterham (SAAC).
