Studies on growth and development of Oxalis latifolia using quartz sand culture technique under glass-house conditions were conducted at G. B. Pant University of Agriculture and Technology, Pantnagar. Initiation of adventitious roots in planted bulbs (called parent bulb) was observed first on 13th day. Emergence of shoots from bulbs started on 16th day of planting. Formation of leaves from planted bulbs was observed on 17th day. Initiation of stolons took place from the axils of true scales. Formation of primary bulbils and leaves from these bulbils was observed on 36th and 39th day of planting, respectively. Peduncles developed from the axils of membranous scales. Initiation and formation of inflorescence in parent bulbs was recorded on 35th and 38th day of planting, respectively, whereas initiation and formation of inflorescence in primary bulbils was observed on 54th and 57th day of planting, respectively. Secondary bulbils were formed on 85th day, whereas formation of tertiary bulbils took place on 105th day of planting. Tuberization of adventitious roots began on 66th day of planting. Formation of leaves and inflorescence from secondary bulbils was recorded on 93rd and 135th day of planting, respectively. Complete senescence of foliage was observed on 192nd day of planting the bulbs. Number of leaves, inflorescence, plant height, dry weight of leaves and inflorescence increased upto 120 days stage, whereas number of bulbils, dry weight of bulbils, total root and plant dry weight increased throughout the study (i. e. 150 days stage).
