摘要

Sorghum is an important crop of the semi-arid tropics and major staple food grain in several parts of India. Weeds are a serious problem in kharif sorghum as the sowing of crop coincides with the commencement of monsoon and the congenial temperaturecondition. The traditional surface irrigation methods encourage severe weed growth as the inter row spaces and unwanted areas are also irrigated (Patel, 1999). Weeds in general cause 45 percent of annual loss in agricultural production (Singh, 1999) andtheir competitive ability and aggressiveness increase with increasing resource availability like nutrients and water. The present study was, therefore, undertaken to evolve a suitable weed management programme in sorghum.
