Pendimethalin and fluchloralin were the most effective herbicides in controlling weeds in pea. Pendimethalin at 1.50 kg ha~(-1) and fluchloralin at 1.00 kg ha~(-1) remaining at par, increased pods plant~(-1), seeds pods~(-1) and yield significantly.Superimposition of hand weeding over pendimethalin and fluchloralin did not record any significant benefit in terms of yield. Alachlor at 1.50 kg ha~(-1) and metolachlor at 1.50 kg ha~(-1) were not effective against broad-leaved weeds. Fluchloralin at 1.00 kg ha~(-1) resulted in maximum marginal benefit : cost ratio (MBCR, Rs. 17.18) followed by fluchloralin at 1.00 kg ha~(-1)+hand weeding and pendimethalin at 1.50 kg ha~(-1).
