Sorghum is an important staple food grain in several parts of India. Presence of weeds causes heavy reduction in the productivity of sorghum. Removing weeds throughout the crop season may not be beneficial and economical. Information on the criticalperiod of crop-weed competition was essential to optimize herbicide use or integration of alternative weed control measures such as stage of mechanical weeding. Therefore, an experiment was conducted to determine the critical period of crop-weed competition in sorghum.
