摘要

Weeds cause heavy loss in the yield of rice crop ranging from 17 to 90 percent. The tranditional method of hand weeding is tedious, time consuming and requires excess labour. Chemical weed control is effective and economical for large scale use. Thenew herbicides developed are more efficient in weed control when applied in smaller quantities and there is a need to test usefulness of these herbicides for the control of weeds. Hence, an experiment was conducted to test acetachlor (Mon 8435) in comparison with herbicides in use to evaluate bio-efficacy in transplanted rice against annual grasses, broad-leaved weeds and sedges.
