The population of tractors in India is increasing rapidly with annual sale of 1.5 to 2.0 lakh units. But at the same time there are large number of tractors in country which are nonfunctional due to some reasons. In fact, maintenance is very much connected with the potentiality of their utilisation. Bukhari, et al (1987) observed that repair and maintenance cost, varying with annual use and the nature of use in seasons, was more important than the age of tractor. Kamble and Panwar (1987) indicated fuel filter and oil filter were two most frequently replaced parts, followed by fan belt. The average overhauling interval was 4050 hours for first over haul 3360 hours for second overhaul and 2330 hours for third overhaul.
