Outsourcing is a widespread strategy for the optimization of plant maintenance and the operation of secondary production systems. Here, much potential for optimization can be found in the outsourced processes. Unfortunately, the effects of outsourcing on bottom-line results of the company are often Ignored. Critical factors, like expertise overhead costs, and changes in the overall strategy have to be considered Very carefully.
