Two homochiral 3D supramolecular architectures,{[Cu(L-threoninato)(4,4'-bipy)(H_2O)][NO_3]centre dot 1.5H_2O}_n (1) and {[Cu_2(L-alan-inato)_2(4,4'-bipy)_2(H_2O)_2]_2[NO_3]_4 centre dot 6H_2O}_n (2) (4,4'-bipy = 4,4'-bipyridine),were synthesized through self-assembly of Cu(II)-amino acid five-membered rings and 4,4'-bipy.The ID right-handed helical cation chains in 1 extend into 3D host architecture with 3D anion guest helixes in its chiral channels,while the left- and right-handed double helical cation chains in 2 extend into interlocked 3D structure.Their TG analyses and magnetic properties are also discussed.
