摘要

A new polyiron complex [Fe_(17)(OH)7O_(11)(O2CPh)_(20)(N3)2]·4H2O-10MeCN (1), with compact [Fe_(17)OH7O_(11)] core encapsulated by twenty benzoate anions and two end-on (EO) azido ligands has been synthesized and structurally characterized. Intramolecular antiferromagnetic couplings are observed for 1 and it has S = 35/2 ground state which was confirmed by magnetic measurements and Mossbauer spectra.
