But should it be expected to act as a global policeman, reinforcing environmental and regulatory standards and public demands for environmental protection through its financing decisions? This article explores the ways financial services (primarily banking) organizations are impacted by environmental issues. It also assesses current responses across the sector and looks at some future trends and challenges.
