摘要

President Obama will push China to cut its steel overcapacity during the G20 summit next week, an effort that may have implications when the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development's steel committee meets days later. Treasury Secretary Jack Lew, speaking about the administration's plans for the G20 meeting during an Aug. 31 event at the Brookings Institution, said China's economic reforms recognize overcapacity is a problem, but the government has yet to follow through with strategies to address it.
